Player Eligibility
- Players must have residence in the town of Walpole (or approved waiver) AND play 8 regular season SPRING town games,. Player must provide a physician’s note documenting an injury or illness prior to or during the current season prohibiting his/her participation where such note releases the player for the balance of the Regular Season.
- Playing Time based on official Little League Rules & Guidelines
Coach Eligibility & Selection
- All summer Coaches must coach in the Spring Season (Head or Assistant) and register on the website.
- Head Coaches interested for summer should email Summer Coordinator and associated Player Agent by the deadline. Selection to be completedtbased on recommendations from Player Agent & Summer Coordinator with a subsequent Board approval.
- Head coach applicants interested in coaching the A Team for the ages of 9-14, need to submit the 2 assistant coaches they would like to coach with this summer should their child make the team, or if it is an independent coach.
- Only 3 official coaches per team allowed for games in the dugout/bench, others can assist in practice.
- Assistant Coaches will be announced after roster selection
Summer League Selection Process
- Players must register for summer baseball by the deadline
- By Memorial Day, a Team evaluation submitted by the Head Coach in the Spring will be submitted to the Summer Coordinator and player agent of the age group if the players should be in Category A, B or C. Those categories do not define team, but allow for groupings based on skill level assessed by the coaches who have been with the player
- Tryout will be held for each age group (if deemed necessary) in May
- Player evaluations, tryout performance and head summer coach input will formulate the roster to be reviewed by the President and Vice President (or a Board delegate if there is a conflict of interest)
- # of teams will be defined based on registration #s per age capped at 3 for Ages 9-12 – there is a possibility of not every registration being on a team if the numbers do not work out. Full refund would be issued in this case.
- New in 2022. Given the way leagues are formulated there will be A, B, & C teams for each age group where applicable.
- 8 Year Olds - Evenly spread teams in the FriendShip League
- 9 Year Olds - A&B Teams in Hockomock League, C team combines with 10 Year Old C in Barnstormer
- 10 Year Olds - A&B Teams in Hockomock League, C team combines with 9Year Old C in Barnstormer
- 11 Year Olds - A&B Teams in Suburban League, C team combines with 12 Year Old C in Barnstormer
- 12 Year Olds - A&B Teams in Suburban League, C team combines with 11 Year Old C in Barnstormer
- 13- 15 Year Olds - 13 year old A Team in Hockomock, 14/15 A Team in Hockomock. Remaining Split teams for Barnstormer
- Teams will be announced on the Walpole Little League website and considered final by early June
12 Year Old Williamsport
- Players must register for summer baseball by deadline
- In May, a recommendation for all eligible players (11 or 12) to be considered for Williamsport will be submitted by the Spring Head Coaches to the Summer Coordinator and Majors player agent. Minimum of 2 players, no maximum per team. Review to occur by President and Vice President for completeness.
- Tryout to be held in May, an email invitation will be sent to selected players.
- All regular season coaches, player agent and Williamsport head coach will submit their 9 person starting lineup, unanimous names will make the roster.
- The Coach will then provide their input to the remaining roster spots
- The Williamsport Head Coach will then meet with the President and Vice President (or a Board delegate if there is a conflict of interest) to review final roster decisions.
- Roster will be announced via Walpole Little League website and considered final by mid-June
13/14 year old Tournament Team Selection Process - NOT OCCURING IN 2022
- Players must be 13 or 14 years old based on Little League Ages
- Players must register by the deadline
- By Memorial Day head coaches will submit up to 20 players to be considered for the Tournament Team, Review to occur by Player Agent, President and Vice President
- Tryout to be held with the Williamsport Coach, Player Agent and independent evaluators
- The Tournament Coach Head Coach will then meet with the President and Vice President (or a Board delegate if there is a conflict of interest) to review final roster decisions.
- Roster will be announced via Walpole Little League website and considered final by mid-June
